ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

As a product designer and digital accessibility specialist, I bridge the gap between compliance and meaningful user experience.

My approach treats accessibility not as a checklist, but as a fundamental content strategy that makes digital experiences work better for everyone.

WORK EXPERIENCE

WORK EXPERIENCE

Professional Background

I started with a love for design, but my path here has been shaped by experiences across UX, product design, graphic design, human-computer interaction research, and front-end development. Each of these areas taught me something different about how people interact with digital systems, and it was accessibility that ultimately brought everything together.

Access Programs Facilitator

Volunteer

Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum | January 2026 – Present | New York, NY

As a volunteer Access Programs Facilitator at Cooper Hewitt, I help lead accessible public programs and private tours for visitors with disabilities, community organizations, and schools through exhibition-centered design education.

  • Facilitate onsite, offsite, and virtual programs that center disabled audiences in museum experiences.

  • Provide access accommodations including sighted guide services, visual description, and sensory-inclusive program adjustments to support diverse learning needs.

  • Collaborate with museum staff and other facilitators to develop inclusive lesson plans with accessible interpretive strategies that explore the intersections between disability and design.

  • Explore best practices for working with disabled communities, and inclusive facilitation methods of exhibition content.

  • Support Cooper Hewitt's mission to educate, inspire, and empower people through design by creating an inclusive and accessible museum environment.

Web Content & Accessibility Coordinator

Full-Time

Touro University | July 2023 – January 2026 | New York, NY

In my role at Touro University, I specialized in updating web content and maintaining digital accessibility across school sites, following WCAG.

  • Actively monitored website accessibility performance using accessibility monitoring software and manual accessibility testing, along with managing the accessibility of various digital formats (PDFs, videos, images, etc.).

  • Worked cross-functionally with team developers and designers, or third-party software, to remediate identified accessibility issues.

  • Conducted regular quality assurance checks for content accuracy, designed digital signage for displays across campuses, trained web contributors (for event posting, web content updates, accessibility best practices, and transcribing/captioning videos), and contributed to organizing and configuring analytics for our sites.

  • Developed a Digital Accessibility Services Hub (DASH), a main-site resource offering easy-to-digest guides and examples for web contributors and the public.

  • Collaboration to create an inclusive and accessible online environment at Touro.

Graphic Designer

Volunteer

Traderware | June 2024 – August 2024 | Remote

I volunteered at Traderware, a software company that specializes in developing AI-powered trading and social software solutions, as a graphic designer. My work also involved some web strategy and product design.

  • Collaborated closely with the Director of Brand and Creative, as well as the Marketing Team, to develop graphics, design system components, and redesign information architecture.

  • Created engaging social media content using Adobe Suite and Figma.

  • Redesigned the Traderverse website's layout and used content strategy to optimize user experience and effectively communicate the brand's vision.

Sound Designer

Part-Time

Welcomed By Design | September 2022 – April 2023 | Pittsburgh, PA

Welcomed By Design, a podcast backed by the University of Pittsburgh’s Digital Narrative and Interactive Design program, explores how to make the future of design more accessible and inclusive by hearing from people working as advocates, practitioners, and researchers. Through this podcast, we aimed to learn how we can make every mind and body feel more welcomed by design.

  • Conducted post-production editing of material and interviews.

  • Designed soundscapes.

  • Built and edited transcripts for episode supplements.

  • Researched, implemented, and managed multistep processes for accessible audio content.

Web Developer

Part-Time

The Pitt News | April 2022 – April 2023 | Pittsburgh, PA

As the web developer for The Pitt News, the student-run newspaper for the University of Pittsburgh, I was responsible for managing and updating the website, uploading ads, and updating stories, media, and other content.

  • Worked closely with the editorial staff to help bring their ideas to life through strategic design and collaboration.

  • Designed and implemented new ways to increase interactivity and improve the overall UI/UX of the site.

  • Developed new initiatives to work towards ensuring accessibility, like alt-text guides and a text-to-speech reader on stories.

Product Design and Business Strategy Intern

Full-Time

CGI | June 2022 – August 2022 | Pittsburgh, PA

During my time at CGI, an IT and business consulting services firm, I assisted in the creation and updating of project production work in a client-facing consulting context.

  • Applied human-centered design methods to understand and visualize information.

  • Plan and assist in client working sessions with my team, synthesize information and feedback from working sessions into action items, and create effective and cohesive design deliverables.

  • Worked both collaboratively and independently to build workflows, wireframes, prototypes, etc.

  • Gained strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Became proficient in new software (Sketch and InVision).

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Part-Time

Learning Research and Development Center | March 2021 – January 2022 | Pittsburgh, PA

The Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC) aims to advance the science of learning by bringing together researchers from the cognitive, developmental, social, educational, and computational sciences. I worked specifically in the Future Adaptive Collaborative Educational Technology (FACET) Lab and was able to work on three projects involving research on the effects of social robots and intelligent agents on learning. Each project investigated different forms of human-robot interaction in relation to education.

These projects included the NRI Project, which focused on designing effective dialogue, gaze, and gesture behaviors in a social robot that supports collaborative learning, a gesture elicitation study to remotely crowdsource gestures reflective of participants’ gesture behaviors, and the Ubiquitous Collaboration Support (UbiCoS) Study, which is a collaborative learning environment deployed in a middle school classroom. I was connected to this opportunity through PittInclusion. PittInclusion is an undergraduate research program in collaboration with Google’s exploreCSR program that aims to foster a supportive, encouraging learning environment for historically underrepresented students in computer science.

  • Observed and documented study sessions.

  • Assisted with data cleaning, organization, and analysis - utilizing a variety of statistical analysis methods

  • Participated in study design.

  • Developed a codebook to qualitatively code transcripts along with video data from study recordings.

Throughout my time at the LRDC, I learned more about human-computer interaction (HCI), machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and natural language processing (NLP) principles.

Design and Coding Intern

Volunteer

The Hunger Project | February 2021– August 2021 | Remote

The Hunger Project is a global, non-profit, strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger.

  • Built a platform for a run/walk fundraiser where participants could find information about the fundraiser, register, log hours, and upload media.

  • Facilitated demo sessions to teach staff and participants how to use the platform.

  • Created a guide for participants to easily reference in the event toolkit.

  • Actively supported many facets of communication and marketing through THP branding.

  • Planned and implemented content for virtual events, workshops, newsletters, and projects.

  • Conducted user research to begin redesigning their student volunteer platform (FeelGood).
